I believe in change. I believe that any person that has committed a crime should be granted a second chance. I believe that a bully will change their ways after reaching adulthood. I believe that any kid who fails a class can turn it around and excel the next time. This is true for adults as well: whether it’s work, or family related. Change is always coming; people just have to pursue it. The definition of change is “the act or instance of making or becoming different” and that fits every person at one point in their life. My life has changed dramatically since the first day of High School; new friends, new classes, new teachers. Surprisingly I went from a middle school kid who would wake up at eight A.M. each day of the summer to watch ESPN and then play video games to a kid who worked Monday through Friday for the whole day and then got home exhausted enough to do anything else but sleep.
But without my job my mindset would have never changed. I went from a lazy freshman who would look at his homework and think that maybe the teacher would forget about the assignment to a young adult working his butt off to complete assignments in class and then furiously driving to work. I even used to spend my lunch time on classwork. I have changed to become persistent, and starving for good grades. This is why I believe in change. Without that job I would not have had the chance to meet different people from backgrounds. Talking to people there has changed me from being a shy young kid too afraid to share my thoughts and trying to become another person, to an individual who can say anything without giving a thought about it. I’m sure many people can agree that I have changed, like I can say that they all have changed as well.
The world has changed, and so have we, but we’re not done changing. My mindset has changed. Now I know I will never become an MLB player (not that much into that thing anymore), and most likely I will not be in the next Indiana Jones film. Some plans have not changed, though. I absolutely still believe that I will end up living in a mansion in Hawaii; just like my seven year old self did. I still think pretzels are the greatest things ever invented. And I most definitely still think that Elvis did not die when people think he did.
