Life can be best described by the quote from Yoda, “Do or do not. There is no ‘try’” -Yoda. When you come to the point in life of finding out what you want to do, pursue that dream with all you have. Through every struggle, high and low don’t give up on the ultimate goal you have set for yourself. If we just have given up when something went wrong nothing in this world would be accomplished. The technology, medicine, art, and very life as we know would not exist.
My goal in life is to become a physical therapist and I already know that this path isn’t going to be easy and I’m going to get bumped up and scuffed but the end goal is worth it. Life is a journey. It’s like exploring a never ending forest full of beautiful flowers and colorful landscapes. But then there will be the ugly, dark secluded paths with withered flowers, harmful animals, and everything inbetween. You won’t know where to go or how to climb over that one mountain but when you do, the view from the summit will never look better.
Every journey starts with figuring out who you are and what you want to do. For me it’s physical therapy. I want to make my life great by doing what I want to so I can wake up everyday and say that life is good. Doing what you love will make your life happier and happieness should be the ultimate goal for everyone. Yes, finding what you want to do is a good start; however, you’ve got a long way to go. And education is going to play a huge role in that journey of yours.
Education allows for so many doors to open. Nelson Mandela once said, “Education is the most powerful weapon which you can use to change the world” (Education). The studying physical therapy will not be easy, but I’m going to go through it. “With school turning out more runners, jumpers, racers, tinkerers, grabbers, snatchers, fliers, and swimmers instead of examiners, critics, knowers, and imaginative creators, the word ‘intellectual,’ of course, became the swear word it deserved to be” (Bradberry 120). It all starts now, here in high school is where I have to make it count. I need to get serious about my grades and not put things off until the last second.
Still, what matters most is the people who are with you on this journey we call life. No matter what your family will have your back; Lilo from ‘Lilo & Stitch’ told Stitch, “Ohana means family, and family means no one gets left behind or forgotten” (Lilo). My family will be with me every step of the way on my journey to more success. When it’s hard, my family will be there behind me, pushing me saying that I can do whatever I want as long as I put my mind to it. They will never abandon me because they want to see me succeed.
However, without friends you can never experience all the colors of life. The closest of friends even become family, Johnny knows what that means especially, “If it hadn’t been for the gang, Johnny would never have known what love and affection are” (Hilton 12). Having people who have my back and people that I can lean on during hard times, that’s what’s it’s all about.
Dr. Seuss writes “And IF you go in, should you turn left or right… or right-and-three-quarters? Or, maybe, not quite? Or go around back and sneak in from behind? Simple it’s not, I’m afraid you will find, for a mind-maker-upper to make up is mind” (Suess). As the journey continues there will be time I will be alone and will have to make decisions, some of which might be hard. But doing the right thing may not feel good at the moment but will pay off in the end.
A life without mistakes is simply a life not spent living. No one can avoid making a mistake; but if you do make it, you can learn from it. Life gives you many opportunities to make a better version of yourself and mistakes seem to be a chance to improve. Knowing what you did wrong the first time prevents you from the same mistake happening again.
Life is like a basketball game – you always need to plan and a counter for whatever is thrown at you, for better or for worse. No one lives a perfect life. You get hurt, used and trashed. But you will survive it. We are all survivors. And our closest people are helping us getting through all these mishaps. Sure, you’ve never seen one-man basketball team. No matter how strong you are, you will be useless against five men who are always charging at you.
Life is a loop, the one you cannot leave; but those around you will make it more flamboyant for you to keep on going.
